At Aromatherapy Today Education, we strive to educate you, the passionate aromatherapists and aromatherapy novices, on all aspects of aromatherapy. For the aromatherapists, we strive to extend your knowledge in the area of Australian Native Essential Oils, as well as bringing to you Aromatica Australia every two years.
Deby Atterby and Sandra Venables have joined their expertise and knowledge to share with you all of their many years of experience in the field of aromatherapy and natural therapies. They have both trained extensively in many fields of knowledge over the last 30 years, with their core passion of aromatherapy guiding them in practice and education.
We offer both short and longer courses in aromatherapy, including the Diploma of Aromatherapy, Australian Native Essential Oils and for the novices, aromatherapy in the home, aromatherapy in skin care and many more.

Over eight modules, this unique combination of online and live recorded workshop materials, will provide you with the knowledge to integrate native essential oils, Australian distilled essential oils, native extracts and carrier oils into your practice. The course will be held online with a live dispensary/Q&A day once a month.
The course will provide you with an in-depth knowledge of native essential oils, Australian distilled essential oils, native extracts and carrier oils. Theory will be through an online experience, alongside a day of practical workshop experience, undertaken from our Currumbin Waters clinic, direct to your learning area with live experiences, answering your questions and creating products you can utilise immediately.
Beginning at the beginning, we cover the essentials you will be needing in order to complete the course, including Australian First Nations history of plant use and the history of essential oils in Australia. Safety and dilutions will form the basis of the formulations you will be creating in the upcoming modules. After this module, you will have a list of all that you will be needing to ensure a practical outcome is achieved in every upcoming workshop. There will be some refreshing of your safety and hygiene requirements in a clinical setting. Included in this module is a practical demonstration utilising four essential oils:
Eucalyptus: Corymbia citriodora, Tea tree: Melaleuca alternifolia, Clove: Syzygium aromaticum and Thyme: Thymus vulgaris ct thymol
Discovering the history, botany, functional properties and chemistry composition of three Australian native essential oils and one common Australian distilled essential oil. Finally for each essential oil you will discover what ailments it is best suited for, based on the knowledge you have been discovering. The practical session will utilise the essential oils covered in this module to create cleaning products, inhalers and shower shots.
Eucalyptus Kangaroo Island Eucalyptus cneorifolia, Kunzea Kunzea ambigua. (Smith) Druce, Lemon Myrtle Backhousia citriodora and Peppermint Mentha piperita
Discovering the history, botany, functional properties and chemistry composition of three Australian native essential oils and one common Australian distilled essential oil. Finally for each essential oil you will discover what ailments it is best suited for, based on the knowledge you have been discovering. Learn about waxes, butters and preservatives and how to incorporate them into your products. The practical session will utilise the essential oils covered in this module to create a basic cream and balms.
Buddha wood Eremophila mitchellii, Australian white cypress Callitris glaucophylla, Narrow Leaved Peppermint Gum Eucalyptus radiata and Rose Rosa damascena

Finally you will discover what ailments they are best suited for, based on the knowledge you have been discovering. Learn about the role of fatty acids and waters and how to incorporate them into your products. The practical session will utilise the carrier oils and hydrosols, as well as some bonus essential oils, covered in this module to create an influenza blend, deodorants and a discussion on internal uses.
